Obituary: "Ethel B. Weddel, 74, Veedersburg, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 1998 in Covington Manor Nursing Home. Born May 16, 1924 in Corbin, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Lee Jarat Ford and Cora Mae Hall. She married James Weddel March 31, 1962 in Monee, Illinois, who survives.

She moved to this area in 1988 from Park Forest, Illinois. She retired in 1988 from American Lock Company in University Park, Illinois. She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene in Veedersburg.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Thomas Patton, Veedersburg, Robert (Rosemary) Patton, Beecher, Illinois; brothers, Ray (Mary), David (Brenda), and Joe (Mary) Ford all of Tennessee, Conley (Mary) Ford, Massachusetts, Don (Shirley) Ford, California, Henry (Mirrell) Ford, Evansville; sisters, Mary Tipps, Tennessee, Nona (Bob) Nutter, Ohio, Dana (John) Jones, Georgia, Pauline Nelson, California, Annie (Eugene) Bradburn, Washington; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, wit the Rev. Edwin Retter officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today (Tuesday). Preferring memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, Veedersburg." – Fountain County Neighbor, June 29, 1998
