Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Stephen Oran and Violet Chidester Stoddard, George Parker Stoddard, 87, completed his earthly life from cancer at his Orem, Utah home. He married Selma Lee September 15, 1943 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple.
Graduating from Delta High School, he worked as a beekeeper in Blythe, California for Miller Honey Company where he met Selma. They started a 20-year bee business in Salmon, Idaho and then moved to Rexburg, Idaho, where he was employed as a building contractor. An Eagle Scout, he was active in scouting throughout his life. He served as Bishop for Salmon 1st Ward for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His wife and five children: Diana (Blaine) Shaw, Cherie (Leon) Twyman, David (Denise) Stoddard, Douglas (Susan) Stoddard, Bart (Deborah) Stoddard; 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; two siblings: Luella Lekan and Ted (Mary) Stoddard survive. His brother, Oran, sister, Helen Davenport, and grandson, George Ross Shaw predeceased George.
