LAFAYETTE — Barbara Landis Napaluch, 72, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in a Lafayette hospital.
A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Barbara was a loving homemaker and a devoted and precious mother and grandmother. Her gentle ways and her kindness will never be forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
After leaving Fort Wayne, Barbara settled in Valley Forge, Pa., where she resided from 1965-1980. She then moved to Lake Charles and lived there from 1980-1990. Since then, she had been living in Lafayette until the present time.
She is survived by her son, John Napaluch and his wife, Catherine of Lake Charles; four daughters, Constance Davies and her husband, Douglas of Aston, Pa., Marguerite N. Fitzgerald of Broussard, Celeste Vice and her husband, Anthony of Lafayette, and Jennifer Courville of McMinnville, Ore.; her brother, Ralph Landis and sister, Mary Baker, both of Fort Wayne; and nine grandchildren, Kenneth, Jared, Kevin, Caleb, Jessie, Tristen, Alyssa, Chelsea and Stephen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd John Napaluch Jr.; father, Arnold Landis; mother, Ruth Hoppas Landis; brother, Arnold Landis; and sister, Cora Landis.
Family members will honor her as pallbearers.
Her family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Autumn Breeze Retirement Home and the E.R. staff at Our Lady of Lourdes, especially Drs. McManus and Colligan for the loving care offered during their time of need.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, in David Funeral Home, 316 Youngsville Highway, Lafayette. The Rev. Louis Richard will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Lake Charles. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today, with rosary at 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. Friday, in the funeral home.
