Son of David M. and Mary Bland MacKenzie Davies. Married Lenora Benoit Feb. 9, 1920. To them were born Emma Vivienne, Lenora Lucille Marie, Althea Juanita, William Yancy, Ruth Earline, and Charles Raymond.
He had red hair and blue eyes. He loved to read. He loved photography and took many wonderful pictures that represent life in his time and locale. We was a Private in the Army in WWI in 1918. He had a buisness of rebuilding starters and generators for cars. He had emphasyma and died from prostate cancer.
From the Lake Charles American Press, 1958: Davies Services Set for Tuesday at St. Margaret's - Final rites for Charles W. Davies, 71, of 718 Gulf Street, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens cemetery. The body is at the Hixson funeral home, where rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today. Mr. Davies died at 7:50 a.m. Monday at his home. A native of Morgan City he had lived in Lake Charles for 47 years. He was a retired automobile mechanic, and at one time was employed by the Hackberry Garage. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lenora Davies of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Pearce of Hackberry, Mrs. Eddie J. Richard and Mrs. Luther Pitre, both of Lake Charles; two sons, Yancy and Charles Ray Davies, both of Lake Charles; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Kendall and Mrs. Frank Firmature, both of Lake Charles.
