Death: May 20, 1963

Mrs. R. E. Fisher, native and life-long resident of Callaway County, died last night at Callaway Memorial Hospital, after an illness of several months. Her home was at 110 East Twelfth street.

Mrs. Fisher, the former Katherine (Bessie) Gross, was the widow of a well-known Fulton real estate and insurance agency operator here. One son Robert E. Fisher, Jr., is Fulton High School football coach and teaches Physical education and biology.

She was born on February 7, 1901, to Henry and Bettie Halley Gross. On October 3, 1930 she was married to Mr. Fisher, who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1946.

She was a graduate of Fulton High School in 1919 and attended William Woods College here. She was a member of Richland Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Mary Ann) Borgelt, Stephens; three sons, Robert E. Fisher, Jr., Fulton, Thomas Henry Fisher, a graduate student at the University of Illinois, and James McArthur Fisher, Fulton; and five grandchildren, Jeanie, Stephen and David Borgelt, and Beth Ann and Janet Fisher.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Thursday at Richland Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being made by the Browning Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. J. R. Black, the Rev Tommy Trimble and the Rev. L. R. Eddington.

Pallbearers will be Paul Houf, Buddy Jones, Russell Dzurick, Pooley Griffith, Jake LaRue and Robert Smola. Honorary pallbearers will be James A. Houf, Frank Carr, Frank P. Baker, Harry Baynham, Scott Houchins, Edgar Borgelt, E. A. Dick, Herbert Vaughn, Judge John Yates, Fred Rentschler, Stanley Creed, Richard Boldwin and Bernard Simcoe.
