Darold Richard Boever, 70, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1001 Ninth Ave. S. in Clear Lake Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1001 Ninth Ave. S. in Clear Lake, with Monsignor Robert Hogan officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, with Military Honors conducted by members of the Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868 Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. in Clear Lake, with a Scripture wake service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Darold Boever Memorial Fund.
Darold was born Jan. 8, 1934 to Frank Francis and Mary Virgina (Palus) Boever at Ledyard, Iowa. He lived at Estherville from 1956 until 1989 and then moved to Mason City and eventually to Clear Lake in 2001.
He served in the U.S. Army as a SP3 during the Korea War from 1953 to 1955.
Darold married Pat Etherington on July 7, 1956, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville.
Darold is survived by his wife, Pat Boever, of Clear Lake; five daughters, Julie Boever and friend Gary Giest, Ponca, Neb., Paula Rienhardt and her husband Bob, Waseca, Minn., Sharon Nitchals and friend Marty Bergquist, Mason City, Ann and Cathy Boever, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, David Boever, Woodward and Chris Boever, Arcata, Calif.; three grandchildren, Dawn Tangen and her husband Scott, Darla Pressley and her husband Jason and Brady Rienhardt all of Waseca, Minn.; and two special boys close to his heart, Michael Weber and James Tangen; four sisters, Doris Robison, Overton, Nev., Arlene Bona, Fort Ripley, Minn., Betty Boever, Minneapolis, Minn. and Rose Anderson, Woodstock, Minn.; and one brother, Marvin Boever, Spirit Lake.
