Rev. E.M. Thompson, pastor of the Church of the Intercession, spent last Monday in the town of Buena Vista where he conducted double funeral services over the remains of Nathaniel Bennett and the latter's daugher, Mrs. Peter Barrett. Mr. Bennett, who was 78 years of age, passed away on Saturday following a few days' illness with congestion of the brain, and his daughter's death occurred the next day. She had been ailing for a long time with consumption. The only surviving member of the family is Mr. Bennett's widow.
