Civil War: Enlisted at Jefferson, Jackson Co., Georgia, on 10 Mar 1862 into Co. G, Georgia 43rd Infantry Regiment CSA.
Official records show he was wounded at Baker's Creek, Mississippi on 16 May 1863, and admitted to Prison Hospital there between 17 May and 23 May 1863, where his left leg was amputated below knee. Pension records show both legs were disabled by ulceration. Amputation not indicated. At home, disabled, close of war.
