Mack Davis, 88, of Camp Verde, died Dec. 9, 2006. He was born Feb. 17, 1918, in Pocahontas, Ark., to Jesse Grover and Margaret Emalene (Mack) Davis.
Mack worked a variety of jobs. Some included packing lettuce and cantaloupes in Yuma Valley, partner with Richfield Station in Somerton, and in 1944 he joined the teamsters-local 87. Mack devoted some 30 odd years in road construction and retired from Bectel as a heavy equipment operator.
Mack's favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing. He was married to the late Lola Davis.
He is survived by his daughters, Maxine Davis, of Tempe, and Margaret (Winston) Brown of Phoenix; his brother Harry (Alice) Davis of Yuma; his sisters, Dorothy Calhoun of Cornelius, Ore., Verda Nelson and Ruth Duncan of Yuma; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A visitation will be at Johnson Mortuary in Yuma on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Desert Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1415 S. First Ave., in Yuma.
