He leaves his wife, who was Hattie Wurster of Milwaukee, Wis. and three children, Charles Jr; Harriet and Nancy. Charles will return from Exeter school, near Boston, Tuesday. A brother is J.H. Beaton, associated with him in drug stores.
Born in Schuyler, Neb., Mr. Beaton was educated at Omaha schools and at Creighton university, where he was captain of the football team in 1893. After his graduation there, he studied pharmacy in St. ouis, then returned to Omaha where he had resided since.
He was a member of St. Margaret Mary church, president of the Beaton Realty company and DeMars Chemical company. He served in the Nebraska National Guard from 1890 to 1894. He belonged to the Nebraska Pharmaceutical association, Red Cross and was a director of the Parent Teacher Association. He belonged to the Elkes club, Country club, Athletic and Omaha clubs.
Funeral on Tuesday - E. A. Wurster, Mrs. Beaton's father, died in Omaha last March.
Mr. Beaton's career as a druggist began in 1899 when he was a partner in a foundling the Beaton-McGinn drug store at Fifteenth and Farnam streets. He bought out the partner's interest in 1903, and rapid expansion followed. He owned four drug stores at the time of his death.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia's Cathedral, with burial in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Pallbearers will be department managers in the Beaton stores.
