John P. Swint John Paul Swint, 73,
of Charleston died Saturday, March
28, 1998,in Marietta Memorial
Hospital, Marietta,Ohio, after
a long illness. He was retired
senior analyst in the works and
research lab from DuPont, Belle,
with 38 years of service, a
lifelong member of Sacred Heart
Co-Cathedral, a graduate of
Charleston Catholic High School
and the University of Notre Dame.
He was an Army veteran of World
War II, a recipient of the St.
Gregory Medal from the Wheeling.
Diocese, scout master of Troop 2,
Charleston, cub master of Pack
28 and a recipient of the Silver
Beaver in scouts.
Surviving: wife, Mary Ann Thomas
Swint; daughter, Ann Burke of
Pittsburgh, Pa.; sons, Jack and
Howard of Charleston; sisters,
Sister Agnes de Sales Swint of
Wheeling, Bernice Sheets of South
Charleston, Elizabeth Power of
Boulder, Colo., Marcellene
Beckelhiemer of Charleston; brother,
Benjamin H. Swint of Charleston;
six grandchildren. Mass of Christian
burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral,
Charleston, with the Rev. P. Edward
Sadie officiating. Burial will be in
Mount Olivet Cemetery.
