Earl would meet with the local friends each night in the Cafe for Coffee and conversation. He liked to joke and live the life of bachelor.
Earl always wore a mechanics uniform , gray pants and gray shirt and always neatly dressed,clean. Hair cut short – glasses, Earl always surrounded himself with good company.
Earl is and will be missed – Rest in Peace – it was good to know ya, Sir.
Mr. Clary died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Lawrence.
He was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Wilmore, the son of Anna Yakle and Homer Cleveland Clary. He grew up and attended grade school in Humboldt. He moved to Baldwin in 1931 and attended school there.
Mr. Clary worked for Critchfield Motors in Baldwin for several years as a mechanic before working for Johnson Chevrolet, Baldwin. He then worked at Sunflower Ordnance Depot, DeSoto, for Hercules Powder Co. After he retired in 1982, he worked for Madl Implement in the parts department. He was a board member of the Prairie City Cemetery Assn.
He married Marjorie Capper on Nov. 28, 1939. They later divorced. She died Jan. 12, 2001.
For Marjorie LaVerne March, 79, Lawrence, was Monday, Jan. 15, at Eudora City Cemetery
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Kay Burns-Bohm, Leavenworth, formerly of Eudora, and Marilyn Sue Coon and Carol Ann Hopkins, both of Lawrence; eight grandchildren; a step grandchild; nine great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
A son, Steve Lee Clary, preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 1987. A sister, Marie Barkley, also preceded him in death.
