Jefferson City News-Tribune, Sunday, November 24, 1991 Roscoe Shivers, 79, Kaiser, died Saturday at the home of his daughter in Lathrop. Mr. Shivers was born April 4, 1912, at Kaiser, a son of William H. and Georgia Ann Howe Shivers. On May 4, 1929, he was married at Tuscumbia to Opal E. Haddock, who died June 1, 1951. Mr. Shivers was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Kaiser. Survivors include: one son, Harold Lee Shivers, Knoxville, Iowa; two daughters, Christina Crowder, Lathrop, and Mary Jane George, Warsaw; one sister, Flossie Stamper, Eldon; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the New Hope Cemetery in Kaiser, with the Rev. Marvin Wit officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Griswold-Kays Funeral Home, Eldon.
