Vollie Elmer Garrison, 85, of Cherry St. Manor, formerly of Sumner, died at the nursing home at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday, 28 Mar. 1989. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, 30 Mar. at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Scott officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Maxey. Mr. Garrison was born 26 Feb. 1904, in the Unity community, a son of James H. Garrison and Linnie Milligan Garrison. He attended Unity schools and married Allie Favors on 23 Aug 1925. She died 14 Sep 1943. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. James (Theda) Owens of Paris, Mrs. Billy (Vella) Risinger of Mt. Olive community, Mrs. Will (Jeurene) Armstrong of Unity and Linda Nunn of Mesquite; three sons, Bobby Garrison of Balch Springs, Dwayne Garrison of Fort Worth, and Jerry Garrison of Paris; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Flora Benningfield of Paris and Imogene Bohannan of Fort Worth, and two brothers, Douglas Garrison of Powderly and Bill Garrison of Paris.
