Scott (Mick) Biddle, 80, Dies; Shoveling Snow

Retired mechanic Scott (Mick) Biddle, 80, of 319 East Central Ave., was dead on arrival at 9:45 a.m. today at Wells Community Hospital, where he was taken by EMT unit after suffering an apparent heart attack while shoveling snow at his home. He had been in failing health for some time.

A lifelong resident of Wells County, he had been employed by John W. Gallman Inc. and the late Art Stern. He was a member of Wesleyan Church of Bluffton and the Masonic Lodge in Ossian.

Born July 30, 1901, he was a son of Stillman and Dora Koontz Biddle. His marriage to Mary Shady, who survives, took place in Fort Wayne Sept. 20, 1924.

Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John (Floy) Cowens and Mrs. Joseph (Marjorie) LaMar, both of Bluffton, and Mrs. Harry (Rosella) Mills of Craigville Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Mary Coak of Fort Wayne, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Rites Saturday for Scott M. Biddle, 80

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel for Scott M. (Mick) Biddle, 80, of 319 East Central Ave. who died Wednesday.

Mr. Biddle was dead on arrival at 9:45 a.m. at Wells Community Hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home. He had been in failing health.

Surviving are the wife, the former Mary Shady, three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Rosella) Mills of Craigville Route 1, Mrs. Joseph (Marjorie) LaMar of Bluffton and Mrs. John (Floy) Cowens of Bluffton, a sister, Mrs. Mary Coak of Fort Wayne, and 11 grandchildren.

Rev. Carl Roark will officiate at the services and burial will be in Six Mile Cemetery. Calling is after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
