He established the Well Baby Clinic at St. Lukes and Children's Medical Center in 1925.
In 1955, he cured Pope Pius XII of hiccups. He also conferred by mail for illnesses of Queen Elizabeth of England. In 1957, he was honored by the University Club with a life-size portrait that was hanged at St. Luke's and Children's Medical Center.
His second wife, Irene M. Haines, was originally delivered by him.
