Susanna (Kiefer) Laubach was the sister of her husband's first wife. She is buried in the same plot with her step-son. She was greatly revered by Corp. Isaac S. Laubach.
The second marriage of Isaac Laubach and Susanna Kiefer Laubach, produced five children. Susanna Kiefer Laubach was the sister of Elisabeth Kiefer Laubach. The first marriage of Isaac Laubach to Elisabeth Kiefer, the father of Corp. Isaac S. Laubach, produced five children as well. Susanna Kiefer Laubach was the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Brotzman Kiefer. Susanna Kiefer Laubach was the granddaughter of Sergeant Andrew Kiefer who died on August 27, 1776 at the Battle of Brooklyn and Barbara Eckert Kiefer. Elizabeth Kiefer Laubach was the great granddaughter of John Kufer (Kiefer) ca. 1729-1800 and Elizabeth Worman Kiefer. Taken From: (on line); The Descendants of George Steckel and Mary Raub by Kevin Frankenfield, published by LuLu, 2009. "Sgt. Andrew Kiefer (1755-1776), ancestor of the late Williams Township Keifers, was recorded as "of Mt. Bethel" when he joined, on July 1776, the special militia company of Capt. John rndt. This company was raised in Easton, on the day after the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed thre, for the specific purpose of joining the Flying Camp which was hastily recruited to face the pending British invasion of New York. On 27 Aug 1776, Sft. Kiefer was killed in Brooklyn, N.Y., during the action which wiped out Col. Peter Kachline's battalion of the Flying Camp, of which Capt. Arndt's Company was part When Sft. Kiefer was killed, he left a baby son, Andrew Jr.l, born 14 March 1776. His widow, Barbara Eckert Kiefer (d 1834), was probably a Williams Twonship Eckert who lived with Township relatives after 1776. Andrew Jr. was reared in the township, the records of Old Williams Church recording him repeatedly as a communicat in the 1780's and 1790's. Since Andrew died before his father, he may have not been mentioned in his father's will, since remaining children were alive."
