COY CLIFTON CARRUTH, 68, of Oneonta, died April 25, 2011, at St. Vincent's East, Birmingham. Born in DeKalb County, he was the son of the late Ivey Hershell and Pernie Marie Doss Carruth. He raised fancy bantam chickens and worked as a line mechanic 17 years at M&B Hangers and 21 years at Bama Foods.
Predeceasing him besides his parents were sons Royce Clifton Carruth, Vincent Eugene Carruth, and Brian Wesley Carruth; daughter Sherry Lynnette Carruth; granddaughters Jennifer and Christy Carruth.
Surviving are wife Shirley Lee Henry Carruth; brother Yual Wallace Carruth of Bryant; sisters Carolyn Cook and Vivian Johnson, both of Chickamauga, Ga.; 19 chosen sons and daughters and 10 grandchildren.
Bric Latham conducted graveside services Thursday, April 28, at 2 p.m. at Straight Mountain Memory Gardens, Lemley Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jeremy Dukes, DeWayne Dukes, Johnathan Milam, Marcus Hawkins, Jackie Littrell, Seth Black, Heath Kyle, and Matt Mixon.
