A. MOLINARO PASSES AWAY
RESTAURANT PROPRIETOR DIES OF HEART ATTACK SATURDAY
Angelo Molinaro, 44, proprietor of the Manhattan Cafe, died Saturday, April 6, 1940 at 9 pm of a heart attack at his home at 822 Lizzie St.
Mr Molinaro who had been working the night shift at his restaurant had just been awakened to go to work when he was stricken. He died within a few minutes.
Active in sports circles, Mr Molinaro was a sponsor of the midget hockey league team Manhattans. He was also a member of the Sault Sportsman's club, the American Legion, Christopher Columbus society and the Chamber of Commerce.
Born in Decollatura, Italy, September 22, 1895. Mr Molinaro has lived in Sault since 1913. For the past seven years he operated the Manhattan Cafe.
He was married May 23, 1928 to Helen M Pingatore of the Sault who survives him. Besides his wife, Helen, Mr Molinaro is survived by four daughters, Roseanne 11, Velma Jean 10, Eleanore Mae 8, and Helen Angeline 3. Two sisters and a brother believed to be living in Italy also survive. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, at 9am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with a solemn requiem mass. The Rev Fr Gino S Ferraro will act as celebrant: the Rev. Fr. Robert Monroe as Deacon and the Rev. Fr. Dennis as sub-deacon. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
Honorary pall bearers include William Cody, Sam Stevenson, Carl Widenhoefer, A.A. Bonno, Willie Skipper, Carl Rockman, Wary McCondra, and Sam Mirabelli. Pall bearers will be James Florence, James Raffaele, James Lapish, James Caligari, John Grego and J Harry Burris.
Legionaires and other ex service men to attend the body. They will meet at 9 am Tuesday at St. Mary's Church.
The rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock at his home.
