Former Manager of Athearn Dies At Stevens Point
The body of Andrew E Frailing, 49, former manager of Athearn Hotel, was found Thursday morning in his parked car, north of Stevens Point. Death was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning. He had been missing since Tuesday.
Mr Frailing, desk clerk at Hotel Whiting, Stevens Point, for the past 10 years, was born May 9, 1907, in Shawano, and following his education there attended Oshkosh Business College. He worked at the Athearn as desk clerk, later becoming manager.
He was in the Army from 1942-1945, and was wounded in both legs and one arm while in Germany. He was hopitalized for about one year following discharge from the service before going to Stevens Point.
He was married April 1, 1944, at Little Rock, Arkansas, to Mabel A Timm. He was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church, Stevens Point, and American Legion post there.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel; his parents, Mr & Mrs Frank E Frailing, Tigerton; three brothers, Harvey Frailing, Green Bay, Louis Frailing, Milwaukee, and Charles Frailing, Madison; three sisters, Mrs Hildegarde Hangarten, Wauken, Iowa, Mrs Linda Flink, Marion, and Mrs Ann Romberg, Embarrass. Two brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Services will be held Sunday at 2pm at Rosenow-Moore Funeral Home, Stevens Point, with the Rev H P Wunderlich officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega.
