Willis Coy Blair died Aug. 5, 1999, at age 75. A graveside service was held in Willamette National Cemetery.
Mr. Blair was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Vancouver, Wash. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific and received a Purple Heart and two Silver Stars. He graduated from Linfield College and earned his master's degree in education from the University of Portland and did postgraduate work there. He was an elementary school principal in the Vancouver School District for 23 years before his retirement in 1978. He later co-owned Blair's Candy Store in La Center, Wash., from about 1985 to 1989. He was a member of Salmon Creek (Wash.) Methodist Church. He married Arletta C. Gregg in 1947.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Willis G. of Portland, Dan of Ridgefield, Wash., Mike of St. Helens, and Gary of Vancouver; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances to Oregon Diabetic Association. Arrangements are by Vancouver Funeral Chapel
