Daniel Roberts Jackson was born January 13,1879 in Uvalde County, Texas, to George Pruitt and Adeline Dunn Jackson. He was from a large family. He was just a young child when his family moved from Texas to Pine Cieniga, New Mexico. As a boy, he loved to trap and hunt. When the Jackson family was living in Blue, Arizona, he met and married Mary Ellen "Mollie" Jones, January 17, 1902. Dan and Mollie had seven childen. When he was working as a cowboy near Winslow, Arizona, he signed up for the draft for WWI, September 12, 1918, but he did not serve. Dan loved to work on ranches, but as his family grew, he needed more money. so he moved to Globe, Arizona, where he worked in the copper mines. When the last child was three years old, Mollie passed away. He lived out his life in Globe, Arizona. His last job was mine watchman for the Inspiration Copper Company in Globe. Some time after Mollie passed away, Dan married Katherine Weiss. He was missed by his family and friends.
