In recent years, Harriett divided her time between Nanuet and the family farm in Vermont, where she helped her brother grow and market produce. Locally, she was active in the congregation of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pearl River, the American Association of University Women, and numerous volunteer groups. Harriett will be remembered for her selflessness in helping others, her warmth and good humor, and her patience and dedication to her students and family.
