Byington, Lawrence "Larry" died after a long illness in Thousand Oaks, CA on March 6th, 2007. He was born May 18, 1929 in Seattle, WA, the son of Edgar and Clementine Byington, both deceased. He attended and graduated from Seattle Preparatory High School and graduated from Seattle University in 1951, receiving a Bachelor's of Social Science in Economics. He later did graduate work at UCLA. While a resident of Seattle, he was president of the Catholic Alumni Club and active in the Seattle University Alumni Association.
In 1957 he received a certificate of completion from the School of Mortgage Bankers in Evanston, Illinois. He was an employee of Farmer's Insurance Group for 45 years, transferring to Farmer's Home Office in Los Angeles in 1968. While in Los Angeles he completed a term as a secretary to the Los Angeles Escrow Association, and was Chairman of the Board at Farmer's Federal Credit Union for four years. He retired in 1992.
He is survived by his son Jeff, daughter in law Kathleen, and two grandchildren, Zachary and Elizabeth. His loving wife of 38 years, Georgia, passed away May 7, 2004.
Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Funeral Arrangements are under the care and direction of the family owned and operated Rose Family Funeral Home (805) 581-3800
