Albert was born in Dodge County, Minnesota. He met and married Mattie Sorben in North Dakota 1922. They lived and farmed in McLean County, North Dakota where two of their children were born. The moved to Circle, McCone, Montana, where my father was born. Then in 1933 they moved outside of Scobey, Montana, where they continued farming and had their last child there. Later, they moved into the town of Scobey, but he still farmed till his death at age 84.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, daughters, Ella (Kenneth) Larson, Myrtle (Robert) Nelson, Mildred Ackers; son, Alvin (Nancy) Ellingson; 9 grandchildren-DeeAnn (Timothy) Derrick, Laurie Larson, Garth & Mark Nelson, Elaine, Amy & Kevin Ellingson, Steven & Karen Ackers; and 1 great grandson, Jeff Larson.
