Harry was the 9th born child of Edwin Ruthvern and Clara Waterman Record. His siblings are: William Thaddus (deceased as a child) Thursa Pearl Fairchild, Altha Sybil Tatom, Carlotta Henrietta (Lotty) Hollingshead, Norah May (deceased as a child) Grace Claudeous Pickrell, Mary Ann Jeffers, Charles Edwin, and John Record.
Harry served four years in the U.S. Navy from Feb 1909 - May 1913. He married Viola Lavina Smith October 26, 1913.
They had three children, Juanita December 30, 1914; Jeannette August 03, 1917; Harry Curwood March 27, 1919. His son, Harry Curwood, was born after he was deceased.
With the start of the U. S. involvement in World War I, Harry signed up for the Army and left for Camp Dodge, Iowa for training. He contacted the Spanish Influenza (the great flu pandemic of 1918) while at Camp Dodge and later died of pneumonia.
His body was shipped back to Nebraska and he was buried at North Platte.
