Albert Marion Brumfield was the son of Dr Richard B Brumfield and Maria Slack, natives of Kentucky. Albert had siblings Sallie C, Richard S amd Maria C Brumfield.
Albert married Aldora "Dora" Eoff, the daughter of Isaac Alexander Eoff and Missouri Ann Campbell, December 18, 1882 in Boone County, Arkansas. Albert and Dora were the parents of Rupert Campbell Brumfield, Jessie (Brumfield) Nasworthy, Anna (Brumfield) Magruder, Albert Marion Brumfield, jr, Marie (Brumfield) Prather, Doris Brumfield (d.y.) and Richard B Brumfield.

Albert Marion Brumfield was educated in Missouri and Arkansas, admitted to the Bar in Newton County, Arkansas in 1882, practiced 17 years in Huntsville, Arkansas. In 1899 he moved to Texas, served 6 years as County Judge in Brown County. He moved to Hebbronville, Texas in 1913 where he took part in the organization of Jim Hogg County and was elected its first County Judge and also County Superintendent of Schools. He held these positions for fifteen years, retiring in 1928. He was active in civic, social and religious activities.
