Dan attended Marmion Military Academy. He was employed by Connor Winfield as a certified electrician and plumber for the past 14 years. For the last 3 years, Dan's passion outside of work, was a theater group in Chicago. He had written 2 plays and acted in several more.
Survivors include his mother, Helen (Paul) Houlne of Overland Park, KS; his father, Gerald Day of Sandwich, IL.; three brothers, James Day of Scottsdale AZ, Tim (Kim) Houlne of Plano, TX and Ryan Day of Sandwich IL; two sisters, Judy (David) Halliday of Shipman, IL and Amy (Mike) Thomas of Spring Hill, KS; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Arthur and Ruth Anderson, and Robert and Elva Day; his aunt, Sherry Sexton; his brother, Tom Houlne; his uncle, Lester Klimpke; and by his niece, Mitia Thomas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Church, 720 Hardin Ave, Aurora, IL. 60506. (630) 897-1194. Fr. Andrew T. Skrobutt will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2007 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL. (630) 631-5500, with a Liturgical Wake Service at 6:00 pm.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions in Dan's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis TN 38101-9929.
