Birth: May 3, 1854
Death: Jan. 24, 1911

Samuel G. Cull married Caltha M. Bailey on August 27, 1870.

The following obituary appeared Friday, January 27, 1911, in the Harrodsburg [KY] Herald newspaper:

CULL
Much grief has been felt in the whole community over the death of Mr. Samuel G. Cull, which occurred at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning as the result of blood poisoning from a slight wound in the palm of his hand. As a last resort to save his life his arm was amputated last Saturday morning and for a time he was thought to be improving, but succumbed to the poison that had penetrated his system. He was fifty-seven years of age and a man held in the highest esteem by everyone. He was prominent in the county as a large stock trader and farmer, as well as one of the directors of the Mercer National Bank. His life was one of strict integrity and full of charity and kindliness. He was an earnest member of the Baptist church and a deacon in that congregation. During his illness when death hovered near he talked much of his going away and always spoke of it calmly and without fear. His funeral services ere held at the Baptist church Wednesday morning by Rev. J. W. Campbell, who paid a high tribute to him as a man and citizen. Many exquisite floral tributes were sent to him, among them being beautiful designs from the officials of the Mercer National Bank, from the deacons of the church and from the Young Men's Class. The pall-bearers were made up of his friends from the church and the bank, Messrs. J. T. Wilson, J. S. Vaught and Grant Vivion, from the former, and Messrs. George Bohon, C. M. Dedman and James Clemons, from the bank. After the funeral services here Mr. Cull was taken to his old home at Mackville where a brief service was held by Rev. R. L. Purdom and he was interred in the cemetery there. Besides his wife, Mr. Cull leaves two sons, Messrs. Jordan and Robert Cull.
