Elsie Virginia Durst, 92, Frostburg, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born Aug. 2, 1906, in Humbert, Pa., she was a daughter of the late James and Lillie (Hinebaugh) Boyer.
She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Russell Durst, on Jan. 2, 1972, and Sherman Durst, on July 3, 1992; one son, C. Frank Durst; one stepson, Floyd Durst; two sisters, Pearl Reeves and Nell Shelley; and two brothers, Robert Boyer and Oliver Boyer.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Hill, Pa. She also attended Midland Methodist Church and was a member of the WSCS. She was a member of Myrtle Temple 3, Pythian Sisters, Midland, for more than 50 years, and held numerous offices in the temple. She was also a member of the Midland Homemakers Club.
Surviving are two sons, James Durst, Seminole, Fla., and Jack Durst, Mentor, Ohio; one stepson, Roy Durst, Midland; two daughters, Beulah Kaucic, Euclid, Ohio, and Charlotte Cornelius, Chardon, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Margaret Fisher, Midland; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, and at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Myrtle Temple 3, Pythian Sisters, will conduct a memorial service at the Durst Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. A funeral service will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Hill, on Saturday, June 26, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. William Triebe officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
