VALPARAISO VISITOR, NOV 27, 1952 --- Francis Winifred Hassenplug Buried At Valparaiso---- Francis Winifred Hassenplug son of John and Emeline Hassenplug, was born on a farm near Valparaiso, Nebr. on March 27, 1906 and spent the years of his youth at this place. He passed away suddenly at his home in Beatrice, on November 1, 1952 at the age of 46 years, 8 months and 3 days. He was united in marriage with Ocia Snyder on February 28, 1945 and moved to Huntington, Ore., where they lived until December 1945, when they came back to Beatrice. Since that time he has worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. He is survived by his wife, Ocia, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Merle Balentine and Mrs. Robert Chavine Boise, Idaho; one stepson, William at home, three sisters, Mrs. Earl Adams, Valparaiso, Mrs. Alice McHenry, Villisca, Iowa Mrs. Lucille Mott, Fall City; six brothers, Clarence, Milford; Lawrence, Lincoln; Lewis, Scottsbluff; Ralph Kansas City, Mo.; Wibur, Raymond; Lloyd, Vallejo, Calif., and many other relatives and a host of friends. His mother, father, one sister and a brother preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted at the Harman Mortuary in Beatrice and at the Methodist Church in Valparaiso on November 4, 1952 by Rev. Wayne Greene, pastor of the First Christian Church of Beatrice. Interment was made in the cemetery at Valparaiso under direction of Harman Mortuary.
