Mrs. Antonie Hamouz, daughter of Vaclav Koca and Anna Soppr Koca was born on a
farm west of Milligan, Neb., September 27, 1879. She passed away at her home
Monday, July 10, 1967, at the age of 87 years, 9 months, and 13 days.
Mrs. Hamouz as a young girl was employed in Omaha during the World's Fair in
January 17, 1905, she was united in marriage to Anton A. Hamouz at St.
Wenceslaus church in Milligan, and to this union were born three sons and one
Her husband after retiring from the merchantile business, became interest in
farming., but they maintained their residence in town, a place that was her home
for more than 62 years.
Mrs. Hamouz's greatest joys were her flowers, sharing them with others as well
as keeping busy with hobbies such as fancywork. She also found great comfort in
her church work, and was an active member of the Milligan Woman's club.
She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons, James A.; Lew, and Edward; one
daughter, Mrs. Robert (Emilye) Smrha ; a step-son William Hamouz; 10
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren several niece and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, a step-son, a step-daughter, her
parents, four brothers, two sisters and one step-granddaughter.
