A. E. Eberts, 64, a former well known Ormsby resident, died at his home to Van Wert, Ohio, last Thursday evening.
Mr. Eberts, who was employed by the United Natural, Gas Company, for many years as an engineer at its pump station to Ormsby, left hat community about one year ago when he retired on a company pension and went to Van Wert. Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. C. J. Lasher, of Ormsby, and Mrs. Eva Stonewall, Buffalo; three grandchildren, Paul and Charles Lasher, of Ormsby, and Elaine Stonewall, Van Wert. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Lasher residence to Ormsby. Very Rev. W. E. Van Dyke, rector of St Luke's Episcopal Church, Smethport, officiated. Pallbearers were: C. J. Parsons, Guy Lasher, Floyd Cosper, J. J. Kane, J. A. Pyteher and Warren Lay. Burial was to Rose Hill cemetery here. Masonic services at the grave were conducted by McKean Lodge, No. 388, F. & A. M., of Smethport.
