Alice was raised in a very strict but loving Roman Catholic family. She was trained to be a nurse and remained in that profession until shortly before her death.
As a nurse she ministered to the health and well being of many individuals, but chose also, to secretly help those women who were troubled by an unexpected pregnancy. Aided them to find a safe clean and secure manner to deal with their circumstances. She never betrayed a confidence, but was very open in her beliefs- even though they conflicted with her religious rearing- that each woman was special and deserved the right to the knowledge that "backroom charlatans" were not the only solution.
Alice and Kidder loved to travel in the States. But mostly were very devoted to family and their pet dogs.
