George Atwood, 48, of Seymour died at 5:17 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Frank Holt officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Mr. Atwood is survived by his mother, Ada M. McFarland Atwood; his wife, Rose M. Abner Atwood; children, George Adam Atwood and Ashley Elizabeth Atwood; five grandchildren; a brother, Willie Lyle (Melissa) Atwood; and sisters, Nettie Elizabeth Atwood, Emma Plisko, Wilma (Herb) Taylor, Anna (Tom) Bishop, Lana Peyton, Martha (Bob) Malone, Theresa (Bob) Vondielingen, Nancy (Brad) Goben and Sue M. Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee Atwood.
