Perry Altemose was born on 11 February 1841, probably in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. He was one of 10 children born to George and Catharine Altemose nee Yetter.
In 1850, aged 9, Perry was living in Tobyhanna, Monroe, Pennsylvania with his parents and siblings. His father was a farmer and their real-estate was estimated as $600.
In 1860, aged 19, Perry is now living in Tunkhannock, Monroe, Pennsylvania with his father, mother, and siblings. His father is a farmer and their real-estate is valued at $600 and their personal estate is valued at $700.
In about 1862, 21-year-old Perry married 16-year-old Lydia Ann Bonser. They would have 6 children born in their marriage.
On 1 July 1863, Perry, aged 22, registered for the civil war draft. He give his residence as Tobyhanna, Monroe, Pennsylvania and that he is married and works as a laborer.
In 1880, aged 39, Perry is living in Tunkhannock, Monroe, Pennsylvania with his wife and children. He is listed as a laborer and both he and his wife suffered from rheumatism.
Sometime in 1887, Perry took his family and accompanied his son-in-law to Washington Territory. They would settle in Seattle. They appear in the 1889 Washington Territory census living in Renton, King, Washington Territory. He is listed as a Laborer.
In 1900, aged 59, Perry is living in Sherwood, King, Washington with his wife and son. He his a farmer and owns his own farm. He and his wife have been married for 28 years.
Perry died on 29 April 1908, in Seattle, King, Washington. He was living at 810 South 29th Street when he died at the age of 67.
