Lela Banks Jackson, 92 a resident in Four Seasons Nursing Home in Fort Worth and a former Cottondale resident, died Saturday, Jan. 8 in Azle Hospital. Services were Tuesday at Cottondale Church of Christ. Bro. Gilbert of Lake Worth officiated with interment in Cottondale Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons: Bobby Slate, Karlon Taylor, Arvel Newby, Ray Banks, Jack Richardson, and Lee Pennington. Mrs. Jackson was born April 10, 1886 in Alabama and came to Wise County at an early age. Survivors include sons, Alvin Banks of Decatur and Carl and Joe Banks of Fort Worth; daughters, Oma Bea Newby and Ema Lue Slate of Springtown, Ruby Taylor of Lake Worth and Reneze Richardson of Paradise; 25 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
