Linda Lou Scott Coursey, 62, of Detroit, Texas died Friday Nov. 9, 2007 at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 25, 1944, in Loma Linda, Calif., a daughter of Neil Carter Scott and Ida Lee Self Scott. She married John D. Coursey March 27, 1964, in Mesquite. She was Paris Rodeo and Horse Club Queen in 1963 and was Cowboy Sweetheart Representative at the Fort Worth Fat Stock Show. She was retired from Campbell Soup Company where she was a Campbell Soup Quality Circle Member, on the Safety Committee and received the Circle of the Month achievement award. She contributed to the Campbell Soup Newsletter.
She was a winner of the Choctaw Labor Day Festival Art Show and was the Heritage Award Recipient. She was a member of Chisum Trails Cowboy Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Russell Scott.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Coursey; daughter Vickie Lee Chapman and husband, Jeff, of Faught; grandchildren Jessica Lee Chapman and Jordan Dale Chapman of Faught; sisters Onlee Mower of Oregon and Edie Belew of California; nieces and nephews Wendy Moore and Jennifer Roshala, both of California, Richard Mower of Oregon, James Scott of California, Gena Iglehart, Christy Miller, Greg Coursey and Chad Coursey, all of Paris, Jeremiah Coursey of Tyler; Aunti Henryetta Arriola of California; her very very special cousins, Ginger Rodrigues, Candace Saporito and Stevie Arriola, all of California; and brother-in-law, Gene Coursey.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Chapel with Rev. James McLeod and Rev. Don Shovan officiating.
Burial followed in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. that Sunday at the funeral home.
