Mrs. Loretta M. Bessey died December 27, 1977, at her home in Salina, Kansas after a long illness. She was born December 31, 1883, at Rosendale, Missouri. She moved to Salina from Stockton in 1921.

Mrs. Bessey was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lyman R. Bessey, a Salina dentist. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the dental auxiliary.

Survivors included a daughter, Beulah Bessey; a son, Dr. Harold Bessey; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
