Ruby Dixon, 82 years old died Monday, January 28 at his residence in Galvez following an extended illness. Dixon was a native of Galvez and had resided in that area all his life. He was a member of the Broussard Grove Baptist Church. The body rested at the home and funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Lewis Kalinceck officiated and interment was in Carpenter's Chapel cemetery. Deceased is survived by his widow, the former Julia Hopkins, four sons, Adolph, Moody, and Dudley Dixon of Galvez and Meter Dixon of Baton Rouge, three daughters, Mrs. Ollie McCrory of Hobart, Mrs. G.B. Reinkin of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Sylvan W. Nelken of Natchitoches, 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
