Widow of E O Banker Dies at 93
Mrs Guyula W Banker, 93, widow of O E Banker of Huntingdon died Tuesday evening, March 14, 1967, at 10:25 o'clock in the Norris Convalescent Home, Huntingdon. A resident of 304 Washington Street, she had been in failing health for the past year and a half.
Mrs Banker was a charter member of the Huntingdon County Historical Society, and member of Standing Stone Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and during her younger years she had been very active in civic and community affairs in Huntingdon. She came to the area with her husband in 1917 and had been a resident since that time.
Born in Frankfort, Kentucky, Oct 17, 1873, she was a daughter of Francis Walter and Aphia (Collins) Hackley. She was united in marriage to Edward Orpheus Banker at Wolcott, Indiana on April 7, 1897. He preceded her in death March 10, 1941.
She is survived by a son, Maurice L Banker, Huntingdon, and was preceded in death by a son, Eugene and a daughter, Vera. Seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren survive.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family Saturday afternoon from Brown's funeral home, Huntingdon. The Rev Orville V Warner will officiate and interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm Friday till noon on Saturday.
