Husband of Sarah (Jones) Crocker
He was a Veteran of the American Revolution. In Feb 1776 he enlisted in the Continental Army, Connecticut Line as a private in Capt. Benjamin Throop's Co in the Regiment commanded by Col. Burrell. They marched to Albany and then to Quebec where the army was defeated. They then retreated to Ticonderoga where he served until Feb 1777 when he was dismissed without a discharge,

In March 1778 he enlisted as a Marine on the ship Providence, commanded by Capt. Absolem Whipple, to serve for six months. They sailed for France with dispatches for Dr Franklin in the American Ministry there. They arrived in May and brought back a cargo of arms, ammunition and clothing for the American government. They arrived in Boston the following October, having served eight months.
