Essie L. Hartnett

Lancaster - Essie L. Hartnett, 85, of Lancaster, died Monday, January 3, 1994 at Lancaster Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 23 1908 in Ellenboro Township, the daughter of Samuel and Clara (Ellis) Dobson. She married Noel Hartnett September 3, 1925. He died in 1981. Together they farmed in Ellenboro Township. She was an avid card player, and enjoyed gardening, farm work and fishing.

Surviving are her three daughters, Mrs. Gail (Ivanell) Tanner of Platteville, Mrs. Hanson (Irene) Peterson of Lake Charles, La., Mrs. Gerald (Aloa) "Sweetie" Winkers of Lancaster; one son, Bernard "Buzz" (Beverly) Hartnett of Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-step grandchildren; nieces and nephews; two brothers, Doris and Burdette Dobson, both of Platteville; and one sister, Cecil Udelhoven of Platteville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon Dobson and a sister, Daisy Sisley.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Rev. Glenn Kohlhepp officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery.
