DARWIN JOHN CROP was born May 19, 1944 in Forest Grove, Oregon, the son of the late John Constant "Jack" Crop and Cecelia Marie (Vandervelden) Crop. He was raised and received his education in the Forest Grove community, having graduated from the Forest Grove High School, Class of 1962. Upon his high school graduation he attended the University of Portland, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
He was united in marriage to Linda Dianne Townsend on September 25, 1965 in the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Forest Grove, Oregon. They celebrated their 44th Anniversary this past September. Following their marriage they resided in Bremerton, Washington, where he worked as an Engineer for the Department of the Navy for 3 1/2 years. When they moved to the Forest Grove community, where he worked in the Farming Industry, having raised and harvested Grain for several years. In 1990, they moved to St. Mary's, Georgia, where Darwin continued to work for the Department of the Navy as an Engineer for eleven years. In 2001, they returned to the Forest Grove community, where he had resided since.
Darwin was a member of the Forest Grove Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2440. Among his special interests he enjoyed stained glass, photography and skiing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mardella Heineck.
Survivors include his wife, Linda D. Crop, of the family home in Forest Grove, Oregon; his son and daughter-in-law, Derren G. and Angie Crop, of Hillsboro, Oregon; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelsy D. and James "Steve" Eason, of Forest Grove, Oregon; and his brother, Dennis Crop, of Surprise, Arizona. Also surviving are his six grandchildren, Eric Crop, Kyle Crop, D.J. Edwards, Dallas Crop;and Emily Eason and Alea Eason; and several nieces and nephews.
