Second husband of Marian Sophia Green-Munn; married on 21 October 1866 in Seneca, Crawford County, Wisconsin.
"James Milton Bearse died at the Everett Hospital this morning at the age of 72 years, leaving two sons, three daughters also two stepsons, Jesse L. Bearse and Mrs. Fred Parkhurst (Ethel) of Startup, Mrs. E.C. Klyce (Mary E.) of Seattle, Mrs. George Pearsall (Alice M.) of Centrailia, Miles J. Bearse of San Francisco, Charles and Lem Munn, of Monroe, a half-brother John Langdon of Seattle. Mr. Bearse lived in this state 26 years, 18 of which were spent in Ferndale as a druggist. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellingham. Mr. Bearse joined the Twelfth Infantry of Wisconsin, serving four years in the Civil War. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Maulsby's, Rev. W. E. Henry of the First Baptist Church officiating. Pallbearers will be chosen from the local G.A.R., and friends are invited to attend the services, interment following in the Evergreen Cemetery."
