Arnold 'Arnie' L. Cornwell
Arnold 'Arnie' Cornwell, longtime resident of Mill City, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2005, at his home. He was 81 years of age at the time of his death.
Arnie was born February 27, 1924 in Minneapolis Minnesota. He enlisted in the Marine Corp, in July of 1941, and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor.
Arnie married Gullickson on September 9, 1944 in North Carolina, and the couple had eight children. Mr. Cornwell retired from the State of California Trade Tech College as a carpenter in February of 1986, and moved to Mill City that same year. During his time in Mill City he became a staple at most of the local establishments.
Arnie enjoyed collecting coins, belt buckles, Marine Corp. memorabilia and spending time with his family and friends.
Arnie will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 2nd at the Mill City Moose Lodge.
He was the adopted son of Abraham and Isma.
