His father was George Roy Wilkerson but always went by Roy.
His mother was Carrie Alice DURHAM Wilkerson.

James was a Sergeant in the US Army and served during World War II.

Married 3 times. James was first married to Joyce, and Eleanor "Ele" Nan HENRY (died in 2009) and then to Ollie COOGLE (died in 2005).

He had at least 2 children (Jeffrey and Peggy) with wife Eleanor. They were adopted by Eleanor's next husband and their surnames became Linnan.

His wife, Ollie, died October 22, 2005. They had been married since July, 1963. She called him Marty and many of us thought his middle name was Martin but the birth certificate clearly showed Marvin.
