THANK GOD FOR HELEN
THANK GOD FOR HELEN SO NICE AND KIND,
UPON WHOM WE DEPEND WHEN IN A BIND,
JUST A CALL AND SHE'S ON HER WAY,
BRINGING HER BAG, SHE'S PREPARED TO STAY,
ALTHOUGH HER OBLIGATIONS AT HOME SHE CAN'T FILL,
UNTIL SHE HAS FINISHED CARING FOR THE ILL,
WE SELDOM THANK YOU OR PAY YOU A DIME,
FOR ALL YOUR DEVOTION AND TAKING YOUR TIME.
FROM MY HEART TO MY HEAD COMES THIS POEM FOR YOU,
SAYING THANKS SO MUCH AND WE ALL LOVE YOU.
THANK GOD FOR HELEN, THAT HE MADE YOU, ----
TO HELEN FROM YOUR LOVING NIECE,
The following is a little history about Helen, written by her youngest sister, Elsie Baughman Primm.
Helen went to beauty school in Dallas. Don't know where she stayed, but came home on week ends on the bus. Her brother Gene Ridinger, paid her tuition for her. She worked some, but soon got married and had kids. Then was sick and in Tyler's sanitarium for some years. The kids would stay with us some. Mary Helen had TB when she was born and I think spent 2-3 years in TX Children's Hospital. Hard on the whole family. But family gets through it!
