First found as William M. Kelley on 1860 and 1870 census in household of W. P. Holman , Lincoln Co. TN.
Oral history, known to several people in the family, is that his father was a river bardge operator from St Louis to Memphis and that his father had 2 families at the same time.
The info concerning his father being a river bardge operator was also written on an original photo of William M. Holman and that his father had 10 sons?
Due to nickname of "Dick" some assumed that his name was Richard. The Holman's were famous for nicknames.
Jane Kelley , household laborer is listed above his name in 1860 census, (LCT- household of W. P. Holman B 1811)
and Jane is born in 1840.
Jane Cobb listed in the census, 1870, was Martha Jane NORMAN Cobb. She used "Jane". Martha Jane Norman was first md. to William Cobb Jan. 8 1865.
Jane Kelley has disappeared from the LCT records in 1870 census.

William M. (Kelley) Holman, married Martha Jane (Norman) Cobb in 1871 and changes his name from KELLEY to HOLMAN .
He was 16 years and "Jane" Norman Cobb was 27 years old when married in 1871.
All of his children were born in Lincoln Co., TN.
He migrated to Oregon Co about 1888 as my Grandfather, William Pearson Holman, was about 7 years old.
William M (Kelley) Holman died as result of accident, hit by a fallen tree. His wife "Jane" does not re marry.
