Charles Dickerson Morrison fathered 16 children by two different wives. His first wife was Sarah Jane Deniston. They were married abt 1860, likely New Jersey, and they had 6 children in New Jersey. They moved to California just after 1870, where Sarah had 3 more children. Sarah died in Dec 1879 of Consumption, what Tuberculosis was then called, In Nevada City, Nevada, California. The family may have moved there to begin with because of the dryer climate.

Charles, in the 1880 Census in Nevada City, Nevada, California, had 7 of his children with him. He heads back east, and marries Ada Elizabeth Howell 14 Nov 1881, in Fulton, Georgia. Their 7 children are born in at least 5 states, including Missouri, Alabama, Indiana, Wisconsin, and New York. In 1900 the family is found in Buffalo, Erie, New York, and in 1910, they are in Marysville, Snohomish, Washington, where he dies. My grandmother, Charlotte Victoria Morrison, the 3rd child of his 2nd marriage, lives her life in that area.
